Drs. Scott Kloek and Anita Durham work together in a group practice in Memphis.  Both graduated from CBU and earned their M.D.’s at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

 

 

      Nick Newsom, shown here at the River Walk at Mud Island, graduated from CBU in 2003.  As an undergraduate, he worked as a volunteer at Camp Good Grief, a summer day camp program for bereaved kids who have lost a family member.  He is currently in his 2nd year of medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

 

 

     Rachel Rome, pictured here at a “My Favorite Parasites” festival for BIOL 413, Parasitology, graduated from CBU in 2000 and earned her M.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

 

Dentistry

     Cynthia Caceres (l) and Cristina Martinez (r), shown here at the annual Senior Research Poster Session, graduated from CBU in 2005.  Cristina immediately started dental school at the University of Puerto Rico the following fall, while Cynthia worked on a research fellowship at Vanderbilt University.  Cynthia has been accepted to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry, and will begin studies in 2006.

 

Nursing

   Nicole Walker, shown here in front of the General Education Building at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, graduated from CBU in 2000.  She earned her Pharm.D. from UTHSC in 2006.

Susan Appling earned her degree in Physical Therapy at the University of Central Arkansas.  She is now a professor in the Physical Therapy program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Podiatry

Robert Appling, shown here when he was a freshman on a field trip to Coon Creek State Park in Henderson, TN.  In this photo, he is holding a fossilized mollusc of the genus Exogyra.  Robert is now a P-2 (2nd-year Podiatry student) at Barry University in Florida.

 

Veterinary Medicine

    Jenny Bernard is a member of the intercollegiate softball team.  As a rising senior, she participated in the MHIRT (Minority Health Institutional Research Training) Program, conducting research on jaguar ecology in the Pantanal region of Brazil.
