Important News: Change in process -  Letters of Evaluation

Please note:  In the AACOMAS 2019 application cycle, launching May 2018, NYITCOM will no longer accept letters of evaluation through Virtual Evals or Interfolio.   All letters must be submitted through the AACOMAS application portal.  We have notified both VE and Interfolio of this change and have actively indicated this information since last year in our materials.

The UIC College of Pharmacy at Rockford is inviting current undergraduate students interested in pursuing a career in pharmacy to apply for the Summer Pharmacy Institute (SPI). The SPI allows students to explore different areas of the pharmacy profession, including a full day workshop devoted to current trends, research, and activities in each of the following focus areas: Hospital, Ambulatory Care, Industry/Research & Development, Community, and Professionalism in the Field.

Because of the generous support of the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois (CFNIL) with support from the Dr. Louis and Violet Rubin Foundation, selected students from Boone, Ogle, Stephenson and Winnebago Counties will be charged $60 to attend the Summer Pharmacy Institute.

Housing

If you live more than 90 miles away from Rockford, then you will be eligible to receive partial funding for housing at our sponsored hotel thanks to the generosity of Community Foundation of Northern Illinois.

Call for Applications for 2018–2019 AAMC Council of Deans Fellowship Program

The AAMC is now accepting applications for the 2018–2019 Council of Deans Fellowship Program, which will run from September 3, 2018, to August 30, 2019. AAMC Hosts Third Annual Virtual Medical School Fair

Earlier this month, the AAMC hosted its third annual Virtual Medical School Fair, connecting 65 medical schools with more than 9,000 aspiring physicians. In addition to visiting school booths, attendees viewed virtual information sessions on topics such as paying for medical school, gaining experience in health care, and holistic review of applicants. For those who were unable to attend, materials and information sessions will be available online through March 31.

Banner–University Medicine has announced Larry M. Goldberg as its next president, effective April 30. Goldberg currently serves as president and CEO of Trinity Health Illinois, which includes Loyola University Health System, and will succeed Kathy Bollinger who is retiring as president of Banner–University Medicine at the end of May.
