CBU School of Sciences
Personal Attention by the Faculty
to the Whole Person
-
Lecture classes are small. This allows faculty members to get to know each
individual student in the class.
-
Lab classes are also small and are also taught by faculty members.
-
Each faculty member keeps at least 10 office hours per week for the express
purpose of meeting with and helping students.
-
The student's academic advisor is a faculty member in the student's discipline.
The photo above shows Dr. Dawson working with students in the organic
lab.
The photo below shows Dr. Ogilvie meeting with Jennifer Hoskinson,
a biology major, in her office.
Students meet with, and get to know, faculty:
- * in the lab
- * in class
- * before and after class or lab
- * in the faculty member's office - by appointment or drop in
- * in the hall
- * about campus (informally)
- * about campus (formally - e.g., Gulf
Coast trip, faculty/student
volleyball game;
graduation).
