Friction - example
Problem: If the coefficient of friction between a block of wood and the concrete floor is 0.50, how far will a block of wood slide on the floor before coming to rest if it starts with a speed of 10 m/s ?
We recognize this as a Conservation of Energy problem with kinetic energy and with friction (Elost).
