Research interest. Using heat shock
protein expression in either bivalves or shrimp as a bioindicator of environmental
pollution. Techniques used, Western blots of tissue obtained from
shrimp or bivalues that have been exposed to heavy metals.

Research interest: Development of
a wide range screening tool to identify adenocarcinoma in newborn infants.
Techniques used in this research clinical database analysis, Western blots,
and molecular biology techniques.
These are isolated field biology sites. The students work with researchers on projects involving carnivore conservation. The techniques include, scat sample collection, radio telemetry, data analysis and trapping of animals. This is a physically demanding site.
Many have resided in Internally Displaced Person camps – some for their entire life, with few opportunities, even though there are currently peace negotiations. The camps are served by NGO's (Non-Governmental Organizations) such as the Red Cross. Our research involves organization, program assessment, and assistance.
