    Minimum of 12 hours of free electives with no more than 6 hours in biology unless the total credits exceeds 122.

    Chemistry elective:  any chemistry course with a lab at the 200 level or above will satisfy this requirement, but CHEM 315 Biochemistry I or CHEM 214 Quantitative Analysis are recommended.

    Students may substitute BIOL 461-462 (Independent Research) plus three more hours for BIOL 463-464-465 (Mentored Research) only with permission of the Chair or Course Director. 

    Total credits for degree: 122.

    Minimum GPA of 2.0 in biology courses is required for graduation.  Transfer students must take at least 20 hours of biolgoy at or above the 300 level at Christian Brothers University.

    ALG 110, 115, 120; MATH 100, 103; and ENG 100 do not fulfill the free electives requirement (effective with the 2011-2012 catalog).
